A Fear Free Totally Gluten Free RESTAURANT!!!! It’s Happening!

Yup you heard me correctly folks,  a totally gluten free RESTAURANT!  Yes there are 1 or 2 grab and go totally gluten free places in NYC that are really good but a sit down restaurant with actual table service in a beautifully decorated space didn’t exist.  UNTIL NOW!!!!  Its called THE LITTLE BEET TABLE in NYC. Before I get to the glorious food and the totally helpful and educated staff, I want to point something out- A TOTALLY GLUTEN FREE RESTAURANT = WE ARE BEING HEARD!!!!!! IF this celiac thing and gluten free “fad” was just that,  then this blog…

New and Improved ALL PURPOSE FLOUR IS BACK!!!!

This time of year brings back my favorite memories of baking in the kitchen with my older sister for hours. The joy I would get to be in the kitchen making sweet treats and then eating every last one of them was only one part of the fun. It was also the time spent with her, being creative and then sharing what we made with others. When I was diagnosed with celiac disease, that all disappeared. For a time. Until one day I decided that I would not be afraid of getting in my kitchen again and REINVENTING those traditions…

Frustrated Celiac? Vigilant gluten-free eater yet STILL FEEL BAD? Missing Link…MTHFR?

Frustrated Celiac? Vigilant gluten-free eater yet STILL FEEL BAD? Missing Link…MTHFR?

If I had a dollar for every time some “desperate for answers” soul has asked me, ” WHEN WILL I FEEL BETTER?  I’M A VIGILANT GLUTEN FREE EATER SO WHY DO I STIL FEEL AWFUL!”, I would be a very rich lady. It makes me so very very sad that I cannot give them a clear answer. And it’s not because I don’t want to give them an answer. I do my best to go through their daily diet to see where they may be getting hidden gluten and discuss the necessity of giving up dairy and other possible allergens…

Celiac Awareness Tour, Media Madness And Jon Stewart

Celiac Awareness Tour, Media Madness And Jon Stewart

Well…it’s been a busy couple of months. The bakery, the new facility and the book tour has been crazy. I can officially say the Celiac Awareness Jennifer’s Way Book Tour is finally finished and wow what a ride. If you have followed along here then you know the trials and tribulations it took to get this book to the masses. From years of trying to convince publishers that a book like this was useful and not depressing (as many wanted a “happy ending” or a “wow you’re cured moment” or worse, celebrity tell all nonsense) to the insanity of trying…

Community Of Support

For You - Believe it or not, my entire life I have ALWAYS felt like I just didn’t fit in exactly.  Never really fitting into the mold that was set out in front of me. In my young school years, I was made fun of for wanting to go explore the world and become an actress. As a young girl on my own, I was a hard worker and although I loved to have fun too, drugs and alcohol were not my thing.  Which again made me an outsider with certain groups. As an actor, I was told I was…

Jennifer’s Way…. My Gossip-Erotica Cookbook Memoir?

Jennifer’s Way…. My Gossip-Erotica Cookbook Memoir?

I write with a heavy heart today. In the last couple of years my every waking hour has been consumed with all things Celiac related. The years spent on this blog and social media trying to spread awareness, writing my recent book, my bakery, writing back to as many of you as I can, the new facility in Queens and of course dealing with the disease first hand has all been a lot to say the least. Especially owning and operating a bakery with my own money on absolutely no experience in this arena was a real tough one for…

A Cookie For Lauren – Grain Free, Gluten Free and Hope

A Cookie For Lauren – Grain Free, Gluten Free and Hope

With so much craziness going on lately I sometimes get pulled into the nonsense and get taken from my actual purpose here…to help. That’s all. I don’t wish to argue, beg or plead with anyone anymore for them to understand, have compassion, offer a few moments on their talk show or for a write up in their magazine. It’s become painfully obvious that some just do not want to hear about this disease and what I have to say about it. And then I remembered my new friend Lauren. One busy weekend I received a call from my friend who…
