Do you have a favorite recipe book for GLUTEN FREE which you use many recipes from! Ive seen so many books but just not sure which one has the better recipes! Also I’ve tried ever grocery bread for my son, all fall apart, do you have a bread recipe that is good! THANX
I have so many amazing recipes that are coming soon I promise. For now I will say that the best bread I have found is a brand called “Food for Life”. Their english muffins are pretty good and don’t fall apart. Best toasted.
As far as cook books i read EVERYTHING! I don’t just stick with Gluten Free ones. I do like Martha Stewarts site. She has many recipes for meals that are naturally gluten free. You must start to experiment. My gluten free flour will be ready for purchase soon and its in great proportion for most cakes, cookies and muffins. I will start to post more and more recipes before my book comes.

Jennifer-, Thanks for sharing your story. It is very inspiring. I hope this brings awareness to Celiac Disease. One of my friend’s their 2 year old daughter was just diagnosed. I have been diagnosed with diverticulitis but, many of my symptoms run parallel with Celiac Disease. I am strongly considering doing the 2 week challenge at this point, I’m willing to try anything. Many thanks again for sharing your knowledge with us, it is the power of life
I was diagnoses with diverticulitis as well. Its sad that we suffer and we can’t get a clear answer. Thats why I say take your health in your own hands. Going Gluten free can only help. See how you feel after but I strongly advise going to a doctor that will LISTEN and get properly tested for celiac, Which is only by an endoscopy. Please don’t give up. We have a right to feel better!!
Jennifer– I am reading all your info from this website and crying. My daughter was diagnosed with Celiac in April but was sick for years and everyone told me I was a crazy mother. Finally we got some answers and she has been gluten free ever since. She actually told me just the other day that she never felt like this before. I asked her,”do you feel sick?” she said ” no I never felt this good before in my whole life” Jennifer, Thank You for your story and for reaching out to help us. I can not wait to tell my daughter about you. Thanks for the inspiration !!
I know the feeling of people telling you your crazy when you know something is wrong! Beyond Horrible. Please use this site to feel safe to vent, get info and recipes. I wish you and your daughter the best of health.
Oh thank you Jennifer for the English muffin thought! I’ve always bought the bread & they fall apart while spreading now ALMOND butter& jelly! no more peanut butter! I’ll try the English muffins & look on Martha Stewarts website! Totally making your scones this weekend
Let me know how you like them. Remember get creative, add pumpkin, apple, pear and brush with maple syrup right before they come out of oven for a little bit more of a crunch of sweet.

Hi Jennifer! I heard a comment today on Doctor Oz about no soy. I thought I would check out your site to see what I could find further on it. Wondering what your thoughts are on soy? We watched the amazing documentary FOK in June and it totally changed our lives for the better. Does the no soy have anything to do with gluten or something else?
My advice on soy is not to have it. It is just too hard to digest. Pure soy like soybeans, edamame is fine. Most soy though is highly processed into something else, which is not good. Especially when you have celiac disease. Your digestion is already working overtime, why burden it with trying to digest soy AND dairy too!!
I like Dr. Oz, he does seem very nice, but I feel like he is still going along with a lot that he was taught in medical school that current science does not necessarily agree with. That is true of so many decent doctors, I wish they were better informed on things like allergies, hormones and nutrition, but the truth is these topics are hardly discussed in medical school.
Like you, I have spent years of my life researching because I suffered from severe anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue, arthritis, Grave’s disease (bulging eyes, and risk of blindness) skin problems, hypothyroidism and ovarian cysts. Now I have a hormone specialist doctor who tells me I CAN control my problems with a gluten free diet and good nutrition.
Something I found a few years ago that I know can help you along your journey to perfect health would be NAET. It’s a technique that communicates with the nervous system (the system that tells your body whether or not to attack a certain kind of tissue or substance, which in the case of auto-immune disease). You can basically re-set your body’s response to any substance, so it won’t attack healthy tissue, milk, gluten, etc. I can personally attest to the fact that many of my body’s problems stemmed from allergies to my own hormones, my own thyroid gland, and allergies to things like vitamin D, calcium, vitamin C, iron and B12 -which meant in my case that I was unable to absorb them properly. My body actually tried to get rid of these vitamins as soon as they entered my body. I turned out to be allergic to over 140 different substances including soy, eggs, fish, florescent lighting, lotion, onions, peppers, tomatoes, chicken feathers, foam mattresses, plastic, wheat and sugar.
I think every Celiac person should give NAET a try, I’d still recommend a gluten free diet for the nutritional benefits, but this may make it possible to have a bite or two of a gluten filled item once in a while not being at risk of feeling negative effects. The process is painless, and 85% of the time it is permanent in just one treatment (each allergy you have is taken care of in a separate treatment). It is also pretty affordable at around $50, especially when you take into account one trip to the emergency room. The best part is it works on any allergy, no matter how severe, even peanut and shellfish allergies.
